Betty Sandrey, 90, of Humboldt died Apr. 28, 2104 at the Paula Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014 in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Dows, Iowa.
Betty Mae Johnson was born Aug. 27, 1923 at Dows, Iowa to Francis Tegland Johnson and Clarence Johnson.  She attended schools in Goodell and Popejoy areas.  She was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Dows.  On Sept. 9, 1942 she married Donald Steding at Hampton, Iowa.  Don and Betty farmed in the Dows and Coulter area.  In 1969 they moved to Coulter.  In 1984 Don passed away and in 1992 Betty decided to move to Humboldt to be closer to family.  In 1994 Betty married Wilson Sandrey of Lucerne, CA and Betty moved to CA for six years.  Wilson and Betty moved to Humboldt in 2000.  Betty was a member of the Latimer Golf Course and enjoyed playing 500 with friends and neighbors.  She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt and a previous member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Coulter.
Betty is survived by her daughter Janice (LeRoy) Jorgensen of Humboldt, son Michael (June) Steding of Longwood FL, daughter in-law Kathy Steding of Latimer; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild; sister, Madeline (Les) Abrams of Fort Dodge.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald in 1984, her second husband Wilson in 2011, son Victor in 2006, an infant son and sister Thelma Steding.
