Carl loved being a teacher and took great pleasure in music especially his cornet, which is the reason he was a high school and junior high instrumental teacher for 11 years.  He was also very interested in his Danish heritage and proud of his service to his country and enjoyed the VFW serving several offices.  He loved the outdoors and especially liked to shovel snow and plant a garden.
