Eileen Ruth Bissey was born January 8, 1931 in Hampton, Iowa, the second of three children born to Raymond and Irene (Markley) Bissey. She grew up on a farm north of Iowa Falls. Eileen was the “boy that Grandpa never had”, because she did farm chores and tended the Belgian horses. She also worked at the skating rink in Iowa Falls. Eileen graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1950. On June 1, 1950 she united in marriage with Larry Hamilton, and they made their home in Popejoy for the next 7 years. During this time the couple’s 5 children were born. In 1958 they moved to Humboldt making their home on their farm down by the river. Eileen loved living on the farm.
Eileen was a remarkable woman in many ways. She worked at many jobs throughout the community once her children were in school. She was an accomplished cook, fried chicken was a specialty. She played several musical instruments by ear. Eileen loved birds, flowers, and rocks. Above all things, she loved children; most of all her own descendants, but she loved all children. She enjoyed driving a school bus for kindergartners. Eileen was member of Faith United Methodist Church, and for many years was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. People of all ages loved Eileen and will miss her.
…. So anyway… A New Journey Begins…
