Frank P. Nelson

Frank Phillip Nelson, the son of Phillip and Florence (Swanson) Nelson, was born December 6, 1927 at Fort Dodge. He attended school in Fort Dodge and Callender, graduating from Callender High School in 1946. Frank worked for area farmers before being drafted into the U. S. Army in 1950. He served in Germany as a tank commander in the 2nd Armored Division. Following his military career he returned to Humboldt, IA and was employed with Sande Construction where he worked for 37 years. During his construction career he met and married Hilda Starlipper who preceded him in death on Dec 12, 2001.
Mr. Nelson is survived by his brothers, Erland (Phyllis) Nelson of Humboldt, IA and Virgil (Barbara) Nelson of Dakota City, IA; sisters Dorothy Nelson and Selma Ehrhardt of Humboldt, IA, and Phyllis Vik of Lamoni, IA as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Clifford; one niece and one nephew.
