Fred L. Hull, 91, of Humboldt, passed away October 21, 2012 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday October 25, 2012 at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Christy Ehrle officiating.  Interment will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt with full military rites by the VFW and American Legion.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt with Masonic memorial rites at 8 p.m.
Fred was born August 16, 1921 in Albia, Iowa to Alvey Fred and Lulu Viola Hull. He attended school in Albia and Mason City, graduating from Mason City High School in 1940. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served at the submarine base in Pearl Harbor during the Second World War. He was discharged in 1946.
Fred married Donna Gail Ressler in 1946. He worked in Hampton Iowa for 3 years then he and Donna moved to Humboldt Iowa in 1949, where Fred worked as a property accountant for Corn Belt Power Cooperative until he retired in 1986. After his divorce from Donna, Fred married Barbara Sunner in 1979.
Fred was a Past Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge in Humboldt and a member of the American Legion. He also served as a volunteer EMTA with the Humboldt Ambulance for 20 years. He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt, and was Scoutmaster of Humboldt Boy Scout Troop 72 from 1955 to 1974.
Fred loved playing golf and bridge, and he enjoyed traveling with his wife Barbara. They spent 10 winters in Texas and 9 in Arizona.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents Lulu and Alvey Hull, sisters Elizabeth Mallo and Hazel Thomas, daughter Marilynn Kay Hull, son Thomas Leo Hull, and wife Barbara. He is survived by his son Mark, stepsons Gregg and Scott Sunner, and grandchildren Jenna Hull and Kelli, Abbi, Kim and Julie Sunner.
