Margaret (McIntosh) Edge, 95, of West Bend, formerly of Pocahontas, passed away November 23, 2011, at the West Bend Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt with Fr. James Tigges officiating. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Livermore. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral Home.
Mrs. Edge is survived by her children, Jim McIntosh of Las Vegas, NV, and Linda Hedglin, Jan Brown, and Jeri McIntosh, all of Ottosen, IA; eleven grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Alvin McIntosh in 1974 and Vernon Edge in 2000; and daughter Marlene in 1995.
Margaret Leist, the daughter of Frank and Annie (Steidl) Leist, was born February 7, 1916 at Ottosen, Iowa. She was raised at Ottosen and received her education there. Margaret enjoyed her work in clothing sales in Webster City and Fort Dodge. After her marriage to Vernon, the couple made their home in Humboldt and West Bend for many years and traveled extensively out west for 20 years.
She loved to sew, bake, play cards, dance, travel, and design.
