Mary L. Martin, 87, of Dakota City, passed away June 29, 2017 at the Humboldt Care Center South. Burial took place in Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mary L. Engebretson, the daughter of Edward and Alice (Richardson) Engebretson, was born February 24, 1930 at Osage, Iowa. She received her education at Osage and graduated from Osage High School. On June 26, 1954, she was united in marriage to Walter Martin and the couple made their home in Dakota City. Mary was a homemaker and helped her husband in his construction business. Mary enjoyed baking, quilting, and cross-stitching.
Mary is survived by her sons, Scott of Humboldt, Kelly (Kathy) of Humboldt, Dana of Fort Dodge; daughters, Shawn (Dale) Benz of Humboldt and Barbara (Greg) Sweetman of Colorado Springs, CO; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
