Thelma Cecelia Fevold, the daughter of Martin and Cecelia (Thompson) Fevold, was born November 7, 1926 on a farm near Badger, Iowa.  She attended country schools in Beaver Township and graduated from Humboldt High School.  Following her education, Thelma was employed in the Tigges Drug Store in Humboldt.  She was united in marriage to Aljie Larson on June 12, 1949 at the Badger Lutheran Church.  The couple made their home in Humboldt.  After her children reached school age, Thelma began her work with the hot lunch program at Taft Elementary School where she remained for nearly 30 years until her retirement in 1992.  Bud passed away in December of 1992 and Thelma continued to maintain the home she and Bud built on Rainbow Drive.

Thelma was an active member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church where she participated in choir and E.L.C.W for many years.  She also kept active volunteering at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital and was a member of Sweet Adeline’s.  In earlier years, she served as a Den Mother in Cub Scouts.  Thelma loved her travels, which included trips to visit her children and grandchildren, and to Norway and Sicily, car trips with friends and last years three-day houseboat trip on the Mississippi.  She enjoyed watching sporting events and following the activities of her grandchildren.  She spent countless hours baking loaves of bread and rolls, and enjoyed coffee with friends and spending time with her sisters on Norway Lake in Minnesota.
