Alice M. Johnson, 87, of Thor, passed away March 4, 2010 at the Humboldt Care Center North.  Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.  Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Blossom Hill Cemetery, Badger.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughters, Linda (Will) Kessler of Forest City, and Susan (Rob) Jennings of Ames; grandchildren, Mark Jennings of Buffalo, NY, Jeremy (Amanda) Jennings of Gilbert, and Matt (Charlene) Torkelson of Thompson; great grandchildren, Jack and Brooklyn Jennings, and Ryder Torkelson; brothers, Gene (Norma) Larson of Hardy, Merle (Dorothy) Larson of Badger, and LeRoy (Janet) Larson of Renwick; and sister-in-law, Sylvie Larson of Thor.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Gertrude (Romer) Larson; husband, Kermit in 2008, and brothers and sister-in-law, Bud and Lorraine Larson and Leonard Larson.
Alice M. Larson, the daughter of Lawrence and Gertrude (Romer) Larson, was born July 20, 1922 near Badger.  She was raised near Badger and attended Blossom Hill School.  Following her education, Alice was employed by the Tent and Awning Company and helped area families with domestic work.  After Kermit’s return from World War II, the couple was united in marriage on January 21, 1945 at Fort Dodge.  The couple made their home on a farm near Badger where they began their farming operations.  They then moved to their farm near Thor where Alice enjoyed helping her husband on the farm and with his construction business.  The couple retired in 1983 and continued to maintain their home until moving together to the Humboldt Care Center North in 2006.  Kermit passed away in June of 2008.

Alice enjoyed painting, including rosemaling, baking, and gardening.  She especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
