Angie Rose Reed, 69, of Humboldt, passed away January 4, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Walden Paige, Rev. David Hobbs, and Fr. William Schreiber officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Angie is survived by her husband, Dennis Reed of Humboldt; children, Kelly Schneider of Tulsa, OK, Shadlee (Kevin Sorenson) Goodell of Waterloo, and Jeff (Karla) Reed of Gardener, KS; grandchildren, Angela Kunz, Ryan Naeve, Joshua Goodell, Katie Goodell, Brandon Reed, Travis Reed, and Anthony Reed; great granddaughter, Shaelin Rose Kunz; sisters, Josephine Lana of Fort Dodge, and Anne Miller and Rosemary (Ralph) O’Connor both of Tacoma, WA,; and brothers, Lorenzo “Scottie” Segreto of Friendship Haven, and Joseph Segreto of Fort Dodge. Her parents preceded her in death.
Angie Rose Reed, the daughter of Frank and Mary Segreto, was born May 5, 1939 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. She attended Sacred Heart Elementary and Middle School and was in the second graduating class of St. Edmond’s High School in 1957. She attended Fort Dodge Community College for one year before attending Duschene College in Omaha for 3 years. She was united in marriage to Dennis B. Reed on February 10, 1962 at Omaha. The couple made their home in Omaha for a year before moving to Humboldt in 1963. Angie stayed busy as a homemaker until 1980 when she established the Fifth Avenue Fabrics Shop with her sister-in-law, Delores Law. She then owned and operated a decorating business out of her home. Angie also worked in the dietary department of the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital and at the time of her death, served as the General Service Clerk for Corn Belt Cooperative.
Angie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Angie enjoyed dancing and traveling, loved her dogs, and enjoyed her participation in Weight Watchers. She had a gift for decorating and enjoyed craftwork. She loved watching the activities her grandchildren were involved in and above all she was devoted to her family who will miss her dearly.
