Arlene L. Jensen, 81, of Humboldt, passed away March 29, 2010 at her home.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.  Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jensen is survived by her children, Peggy (Russ) Mullen of Charles City, Connie (Brad) Eller of West Des Moines, Kathy (Kevin) Brownfield of Ames, Richard (Debbie) Jensen of Double Oak, TX, Paul (Donna) Jensen of Winston Salem, NC, and John (Gena) Jensen of Farmersville, TX; 16 gradnchildren;23 great grandchildren; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ron (Mary Jane) Jensen, Joan Jensen, Bob (Adonna) Jensen, Doris Wolcott, Lelia Grohe, and Robert Hudson.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; son, Steven Jensen; grandchildren, Michael Mullen, John Brett Jensen, Lisa Sorensen, and Brody Pahnisch; brothers, Earl Grohe and Warren Grohe; and sisters, Elda Quirin, Erma Bowman, Marian Williamson, Norma Hudson, Fern Grohe, and Inez Schirbroun.
Arlene Louise Grohe, the daughter of John and Ode May (Halling) Grohe, was born November 29, 1928 at Coon Rapids, Iowa.  She received her elementary education at Coon Rapids and graduated from Schaller High School in 1946.  In the fall of 1946 she moved to Humboldt where she met William Harry Jensen.  On May 4, 1947, the couple was united in marriage at the Presbyterian Church at Schaller.  The couple had seven children.  Arlene and Bill, together, owned and operated the locker in Humboldt for several years.   Also in Humboldt, Arlene worked over 10 years at Hoods Super Value, the Anthony’s Store for over 17 years and Congregate Meals for 10 years.
