Bruce Vogt, 56, of Waterloo, formerly of Humboldt passed away on April 17 at Pillar of Cedar Valley in Care Initiative Hospice of a lengthy illness.
Bruce was born on June 18, 1963, to Floyd and Lucille Vogt in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He attended school in Humboldt and lived in Waterloo since 1983 in his apartment until November 2018. He entered Pillar in February of 2019.
Bruce is survived by his mother Lucy Thorson, sister Valerie (Craig) Bravender and brother Jeffrey Vogt, He is also survived by his step siblings Douglas Thorson (Rita) Tammi Sesker (Bill) and Teri Myers as well as his best friend Rocky Moore and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Floyd Vogt, his step father Blaine Thorson, sister Shawn Thaxton and brother-in-law Dan Myers.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Burial will be held in Indian Mound Cemetery in Humboldt.
