Carol Ann Lathrop

July 26, 1937 — August 13, 2015

Carol Lathrop, 78, of Humboldt, passed away August 13, 2015 at the Paula Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Doug Wolter officiating. Burial will take place in Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Left to cherish Carol’s memory are her husband, Guy Lathrop of Humboldt; her children, Lon (Lori) Lathrop of Red Oak, Duane (Serena) Lathrop of Gilmore City, and Keith (Lori) Lathrop of Humboldt; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 niece; and 5 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Brother, Gene Capps; and sisters, Jackie Baldwin and Charlene Smith.
Carol Ann Capps, the daughter of Helen and Odie Capps, was born July 26, 1937 at Des Moines, Iowa. She moved with her family to Fort Dodge where she graduated from high school in 1956. On August 4, 1957, she was united in marriage to Guy Lathrop at the Burnside Baptist Church. The couple made their home in Storm Lake until moving to Humboldt in 1959. In addition to raising her three sons, Carol was employed in the Kersten Clinic in Fort Dodge, Humboldt Mutual Insurance, and the Humboldt County Treasurers Office.
Carol was a member of Oak Hill Church in Humboldt. She enjoyed traveling with Guy and card club. Above all, she loved her grandchildren and enjoyed watching their activities.
