Cindy Heiter Gist

Cindy Heiter Gist, 58, formerly of Humboldt, passed away September 15, 2015 in the Veterans Hospice Unit of the Robert J. Dole Veterans Hospital in Wichita, KS. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 26th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 25th at the funeral home.
Cindy was born August 2, 1957 to Berlyn and Mona Heiter. She attended school at Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1976. Following her education, Cindy served in the National Guard, joining the United States Army in 1978. She served until 1985 including two tours in Japan.
Cindy began her CAN career while in Junior High School at Sisson’s Nursing Home and continued caring for the elderly until June 12, 2015.
Cindy enjoyed car racing and spending as much time she could with her grandbabies.
Cindy is survived by her mother, Mona Heiter; her sister, Claudia Heiter; niece, Casey Heiter; and partner, Charles Vest, all of South Coffeyville, OK. She is also survived by her aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Berlyn Heiter.
