David M. "Dave" Myers

David M. “Dave” Myers, 63, of Humboldt, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Paula Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.

David Martin Myers was born on January 14, 1958, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of James Myers and Karon Rowe. He was raised and educated in Gilmore City, graduating from Gilmore City-Bradgate High School in 1976. Dave graduated from the Iowa Central Community College Auto Mechanics program.
Dave worked as a mechanic for Taylor Ford in Algona for a time and then moved to Humboldt. He was united in marriage with Deanne M. Kiley on April 23, 1983, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Humboldt. The couple made their home in Humboldt, where he worked for Garrison Ford and for Humboldt Motors, the last 28 years.

Dave really enjoyed his “Umpiring Career”, he has umpired softball games for the past twenty-eight years, umpiring over 200 games a season, most of them at Harlan Rogers Park in Fort Dodge. He also enjoyed woodworking and bowling, but he especially loved time spent with his family and grandchildren.

Dave is survived by his wife Deanne of Humboldt; children, Shannon (Megan) Myers of Fort Dodge and Kylee (Bob) Myott of Humboldt; grandchildren Kasey and Colton Myers and Hadley Myott; his mother Karon (Dick) Rowe of Dayton; step-mother Marilyn Myers of Pocahontas; siblings: Mike Myers of Gilmore City, Tim (Cindy) Myers of Dakota City, Allen Myers of Humboldt, Chris Jensen of Boone, Pam (Kevin) Barkley of Lehigh, Francis Welty of Pocahontas, Barb (Rick) Lamb of Sergeant Bluff, Diane (Dan) Frerk of Gilmore City and JoAnn (Al) Zdrazil of Pocahontas. He was preceded in death by his father James.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21st at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt, face coverings are suggested. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 20th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery near Hardy. www.masonlindhart.com
