Doyle W. Darnall, 79, of Humboldt, passed away on Thursday evening, January 27, 2022, at the Humboldt Care Center North.
He was born February 15, 1942 in Winterset, Iowa, the son of Ernest and Inez (Little) Darnall. He was raised and educated in Winterset, graduating from Winterset High School. He then attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. Doyle was united in marriage to Joyce A. Fowler on September 2, 1967. The couple made their home in Winterset and Muscatine. In 1973, they moved to Humboldt where he managed the Gibson Store and was later employed at True Value Hardware, Shopper’s Supply, John’s AG Services and Chantland Manufacturing until retiring in 2012. He was a master gardener, had taught Sunday school and Youth Group at Oak Hill and assisted his wife as a Girl Scout leader for a number of years. He was a loyal Iowa State fan and enjoyed collecting John Wayne memorabilia.
Doyle is survived by his wife Joyce of Humboldt, his daughters Joelle M. Brackin of Davenport, Joleen D. (Joel) Darnall Poyner of Jesup and Dr. Johnna D. (Ethan) Darnall Bonde of Canal Winchester, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Raymond LaVern, Robert Dale, Ronald Phillip and two infant brothers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23rd at Oak Hill Church in Humboldt. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service of Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements. www.masonlindart.com
