Edward "Ed" Mason

Edward “Ed” L. Mason, 79 of Lu Verne, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

He was born December 10, 1941 in Blair, Nebraska, the son of Walter and Lucille (Swartz) Mason. He was raised and educated in Nebraska. He met and married Ila Mincer. The couple made their home in various places in the United States yet viewed Iowa as home. The couple later divorced and Ed met Cindy Harms, together they made Lu Verne their home. Ed worked as a tree trimmer for most of his working career and in retirement became a junkman enjoying all of the treasures he found. In his early years he had a passion for fishing.

He is survived by his significant other Cindy Harms, his children Joline (Luis) Reyes of Fort Dodge, Shaun (Amy) Mason of Cedar Rapids and Viana Mason of Corwith, his step-daughter Sherry Harms, his grandchildren BettyJo, Creig, David, Nichelle, Randy, MaKayla, Shaun, Earl, Tobyjoe, Jimmylee, Joe, Michael and Joline, Derek, Aaron and Alayna, many, many, great-grandchildren and his brother Tommy (Janis) Mason of Hastings, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bobby, Elmer, Denny and Earl, his son Edward and grandsons Nicholas and Jesse.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the 1:30 Service of Remembrance on Thursday, September 9th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt. www.masonlindhart.com
