Frances E. Oppedahl. 89, of Bode, passed away Oct. 17, 2010 at the Humboldt Care Center North.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church at Bode with the Rev. Paul Breddin officiating.  Interment will be in St. Olaf Cemetery, Bode.  Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m. Thur.. Oct. 21 at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Bode.
Mrs. Oppedahl is survived by her children, Suzanne (Irving) Globstad of West Des Moines, Peter (Carie) Oppedahl of Fort Dodge, Anthony (Tami) Oppedahl of Sacramento, CA, and Ronald Oppedahl of Laguna Hills, CA; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Roy Enockson, Palmer Enockson, Ernest Enockson, sister, Bertha Jaccobson; and grandson, Matthew Oppedahl.
Frances Oppedahl, the daughter of Peter and Gunda (Egeness) Enockson, was born Dec. 7, 1920 at Ottosen, Iowa and was raised and educated in Ottosen.  She graduated from Ottosen High School in 1938 where she played basketball.  Frances married Oscar Oppedahl April 14, 1940 at Ottosen and they made their home on the Enockson family farm.  They lived  in Webster City for a short time but returned to the Ottosen area and farmed.  They retired in 1970 and built a home in Bode.  Frances worked at Marv’s café, was a school cook for 6 years..  She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and was a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Ottosen.  Frances sang in the Church Choir, the Sweet Adalines and was the chairman of many Bode Lutefisk suppers.  She was and excellent Lefsa maker and almost bowled a 300 game.  She especially enjoyed being around her grandchildren
