Gary J. Green, 70, of Humboldt, passed away February 25, 2014 at Unity Point Health Care in Fort Dodge.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the First Evangelical Free Church in Fort Dodge with Pastor Scott Hatton officiating.  Interment will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt.  Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Jane of Humboldt; his children, Geoffrey (Shawn) Green of Humboldt, Andy (Erin) Green of Mantorville, MN, Jennifer Green of Humboldt, Jacob Green of Humboldt, and Jenny Powell of Postville; grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, Malachi, Benjamin, Jazmine, Jocelyne, and Jessenia; and his sister, Helen Johnson of Fort Dodge.  He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; his son, David Michael Green; and brother, John Koestner.
Gary John Green, the son of Jack and Eileen (Gustafson) Green, was born August 28, 1943 at Humboldt, Iowa.  He was raised and educated in the Humboldt and Fort Dodge areas.  Gary graduated from Fort Dodge High School with the class of 1962 and attended mechanic school in Kansas City.  He was united in marriage to Jane Craig on August 16, 1969 at the 5th Avenue Baptist Church and the couple made their home at Humboldt where they raised their children.  Gary worked as a mechanic in Humboldt for many years and retired from Corn Belt Power.  He put his skills as a mechanic to work in one of the great joys in his life, building and rebuilding cars.
Gary was a faithful member of the First Evangelical Free Church and during his many health issues in the past few years, kept his faith in God for everything.  He loved the Lord and shared God’s love with those he met.
