James Brodale Zorn age 82 of Clarksburg, Maryland died September 8, 2010 at the Collingswood Nursing Home in Rockville, Maryland. Funeral services will be Friday September 24, 2010 at 10 AM at the Mason Lindhart Funeral Home with visitation prior to the service. Internment will be at Our Savior’s Cemetery Corinth Township, Humboldt County, Iowa.
James Brodale Zorn was born April 10, 1928 in Rochester, Minnesota, the son of Clyde and Sarah (Brodale) Zorn. His family moved to Chicago when he was a child, then to Humboldt following the death of his father. He graduated from Humboldt High School and from Iowa State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. After World War II he joined the US Army Air Corps and worked on the electronics for the atomic bomb in Los Alamos. After his honorable discharge he was employed in the civilian nuclear energy industry for the Martin Company and Westinghouse before going to work for the Atomic Energy Commission (later Department of Energy) in Washington, DC from which he retired. He has made his home in Clarksburg, Maryland for many years.
Mr. Zorn is survived by his children Diana Miller of Boulder, Colorado and James Zorn Jr of Clarksburg, Maryland.
