Jeanne Christiansen, 85, of Humboldt, passed away November 15, 2010 at her home.  Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Humboldt with the Rev. Lynda Bigler officiating.  Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.
Mrs. Christiansen is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Alan) Hamilton of Fareham Hampshire, England; 3 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchild; brother, Wayne (Joan) Wittman of St. Paul, MN; and sisters, Bobbie (Harold) Nilles of Gilmore City, and Verna (John) Nilles of Humboldt.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Emory.
Lois Jeanne Wittman, the daughter of Robert L. and Blanche (Stevenson) Wittman, was born May 29, 1925 at Algona, Iowa.  As a child, she moved with her family to Humboldt.  She received her education at Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1943.  She was united in marriage to Emory Christiansen on October 31, 1946.  Emory’s work with the telephone company took the family to various communities until 1953 when they made their home at Rockwell City.  Following retirement in 1985, the couple made their home at Big Stone Lake, Minnesota until 2000 when they moved to Pocahontas.  In 2004, they made their home at Humboldt.  Mr. Christiansen passed away in August of 2005 and Jeanne continued to maintain her home in Humboldt until her death on the morning of November 15, 2010 at the age of 85.

Mrs. Christiansen was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ and the Women’s Fellowship, Eastern Star, and Birthday and sewing club.  She enjoyed reading and time spent with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the Jeanne’s family requests memorials to go to the Congregational Church Roof Fund or Home Health Care.
