Jennie M. Blanchard

Jennie M. Blanchard, 89, of Humboldt, passed away July 1, 2017 at the Long Term Care Unit of the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt prior to an 11 am graveside service at Indian Mound Cemetery. Graveside services will be followed by a time of visitation and lunch at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt.
Jennie Marie Gilliland, the daughter of Leonard and Anna Mare (Strack) Gilliland, was born December 4, 1927 on a farm in Corinth Township, Humboldt County. She attended country schools and graduated from Humboldt High School with the class of 1946. Following her education, Jennie worked for Humboldt Abstract Company then Buchanan Abstract Company. On November 25, 1959, she was united in marriage to Clifford Blanchard at Algona. The couple made their home at Algona where Jennie worked in the Kossuth County Assessors Office until her retirement. In 1988, the couple moved to Humboldt. Mr. Blanchard passed away on January 1, 2001 and Jennie continued to maintain her home until becoming a resident of the Long Term Care Unit of The Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. She passed away there on the afternoon of July 1, 2017 at the age of 89.
Jennie was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. Her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews survive her.
