John “Jack” Bradley, 84, of Humboldt, passed away June 13, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Father James Tigges, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Humboldt, with full military rites by the Adams American Legion Post 119 and Sathers-Odgaard VFW Post 5240. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. A parish rosary will be at 4:45 and parish scripture service at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

John “Jack” Bradley, the son of John and Elizabeth (Fox) Bradley, was born April 16, 1930 at rural Clare, Iowa. He was raised and educated at Gilmore City and graduated from Gilmore City High School. Following his education, he enlisted into the United States Navy but was instead drafted by the United States Army where he served during the Korean War. Jack was honorably discharged in 1954 and returned to Gilmore City where he began working as a truck driver for the limestone company. He met Donna Beebe and the couple was united in marriage on July 30, 1955 at the rectory in Gilmore City. They made their home in Humboldt and Jack went to work for IPS. The family was transferred with IPS and made their homes in Storm Lake, Ida Grove and Rockwell City before returning to Humboldt. In his retirement after 35 years of service to IPS, Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his bicycle, and tormenting his neighbors. Above all, Jack loved the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the National Wild Turkey Federation.

Jack is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Donna Bradley of Humboldt; his children, Brad (Deb) Schriber of Minneota, MN, David (Teresa) Schriber of Vero Beach, FL, and Kristi (Mark) Newton of Dakota City; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, with another due in august; and his sisters, Mary Bradley and Theresa McDonald both of Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Cynthia Bradley; granddaughter, Brianna Bradley; great granddaughter, Brynleigh Newton; brothers, Hugh, Edward, and Charles Bradley; and sisters, Rose Anderson, Josephine Telfer, and Betty Jacobson.
