Lloyd W. Gochenour

Lloyd Wayne Gochenour, 95, of Humboldt passed away on Friday, November 29 at the Long Term Care Unit of Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 17th, 1924 on a farm in rural Ottosen to Elvin and Rose (Davis) Gochenour. Lloyd graduated from Ottosen High School in 1941 at the age of 16. He served in the U.S. Army and was inducted into the service on November 29th, 1944. Upon his return from serving in the Pacific Theater during WWII, he was united in marriage to Anna Mae Rossing on January 26th, 1947. They made their home briefly in Fort Dodge until they moved to the family farm in Weaver Township, Humboldt County.
In 1960, they left the farm and moved into Humboldt where Lloyd worked for Carlson Implement. In 1962 Lloyd and Anna moved to Pocahontas, where together they owned and operated Gochenour Implement until their retirement in 1976. At that time, they returned to Humboldt and often spent their winters in Arizona. Lloyd was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and past master of Masonic Lodge, 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Abu Bekr Shriners. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Rotary International and Flying Farmers. Lloyd and Anna also spent many years as active members of the WBCCI Airstream Club and enjoyed traveling together in the couple’s private plane.
Lloyd is survived by daughter Carolynne (T.H.) Hoefing of Manson; sons Roger (Sonna) Gochenour of Humboldt and Douglas (Darly) Gochenour of Cherokee; grandchildren Eric (Kristy) Hoefing, Neall Hoefing, Brad (Kim) Hoefing, Marc Hoefing, Kendra (Matthew) Johnson and Brian (Rhiannon) Gochenour; great-grandchildren Halle, Abby, Natalie and Bryce Hoefing; Elizabeth and Henley Hoefing; Sadie and Natalie Johnson; Riley, Maddie and Nora Gochenour and his sister Vera Huddleston.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Anna Mae, his parents, granddaughter Kristen Gochenour, 3 brothers Roy, Carl and Gerald Gochenour and 2 sisters, Della and Dorothy.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd at 11 a.m. the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt, a visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of services. Burial will be held at Union Cemetery in Humboldt.
