Lois Ann Fort, the daughter of Clarence and Edna (Frank) Fort, was born September 18, 1929 in St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.  As a child, Lois lived with her parents near Paola, Kansas where she attended country schools.  In 1939, the family moved to Iowa.  In 1944, they made their home on a farm in Corinth Township that had electricity, running water, inside plumbing and a telephone, which Lois described as being “like Heaven to us”.
She completed her education, riding the first school bus in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1948.  Following her education, Lois was employed in the Auditor’s Office in the Humboldt County Courthouse.  On September 24, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert Molitor and in 1953, left her position in the Auditor’s Office to care for her growing family.

Lois took great pride in her participation in the 4-H program serving 20 years as a 4-H leader and as a 4-H judge for surrounding counties.  She enjoyed working with her children and grandchildren on 4-H projects and four years ago, she and Bob were inducted as the Humboldt County Representatives into the 4-H Hall of Fame. Lois enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished quilter, creating quilts for all of her family.

Lois’ faith was important to her and she was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  She was active in St. Mary’s Society where she enjoyed working with Bob on the Christmas food baskets.

Lois is survived by her husband, Robert Molitor of Humboldt; daughters, Jenean (Mel) Smith of Dakota City, Blythe Barber of Dubuque, and Lisa (Randy) Ahrens of Rhodes; grandchildren, Derek (Laura) Tellier of Minnetonka, MN, Marissa (Justin) Bauer of Ankeny, Brieanna (Clint) Hilken of North Liberty, and Chelsy Barber of Ames; great grandchildren, Ava and Van Tellier, and Claire and Garrett Bauer.  She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Wendy Tellier; and her sister-in-law, Mary Braby.
