Louise M. Davis, 94, of Humboldt, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 11, 2018 in the Long Term Care Unit of Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 1, 1924 in Whittemore, Iowa, the daughter of August and Clotilda (Kaschmitter) Elbert. Was raised and educated in Whittemore, graduating from Presentation Academy. Louise was united in marriage to George Davis on January 18, 1950 in Algona. The couple spent their lives raising their family in the Livermore, Algona area before moving to Humboldt in 1965. She worked as a legal secretary for E. C. McMahon in Algona and later, Baker, Johnson & Sandblom in Humboldt, retiring in 1986. In retirement she worked in the school lunch program at St. Mary Catholic Church in Humboldt. She was an active member of St. Mary’s, enjoyed baking and sewing, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles.
Louise is survived by her children, Jerry (Denise) Davis of Parker, Colorado, Mary (Larry) Bormann of Humboldt and Don (Therese) Davis of Aurora, Colorado, her grandsons, John Davis, James Davis, Lukas Davis, Jason Lee and Christopher Lee, 11 great-grandchildren and her brother, John (Trudy) Elbert of Spencer, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband George, 2 sons, Larry & Gary, her brothers, Robert, Edward & Paul and her sisters, Ruth and Gladys.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, December 17th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Humboldt. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. www.masonlindhart.com
