Mary C. Moffitt

Mary C. Moffitt, 63, of Altadena, California, in Los Angeles County and formerly of the Humboldt / Dakota City area, passed away at her home in Altadena on August 31, 2020.

She was born June 3, 1957 in California the daughter of Lester and Phyllis (Fraser) Moffitt. She moved with her family at an early age to the Humboldt / Dakota City area where she was raised and educated. She went on to further her studies obtaining a Bachelors in Education. Mary taught school for a number of years. She felt Humboldt was her second home and kept up on what was happening in the area through local friends and her subscription to the Humboldt Independent. She had a love of animals, dogs and especially cats. She volunteered for the Humane Society and was a major benefactor for establishing the Moffitt Animal Shelter in Humboldt.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 26th at Union Cemetery in Humboldt. Memorials in her name can be made to the Moffitt Animal Shelter in Humboldt. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of the arrangements. www.masonlindhart.com
