Mason T. Naeve

Mason Theodore Naeve, the son of Rodney and Heather (Prenger) Naeve, was born October 10, 2000, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Humboldt. He went on to receive his GED and later graduated from Iowa Central Community College with an applied science degree in diesel technology.


Mason worked for Gypsum Hollow Service as a truck mechanic in Fort Dodge and 1st Choice Gutters and Exteriors in Humboldt. He enjoyed fishing, hanging with his buddy Reese, playing Xbox and guitar hero, working on his truck and making people laugh. Mason loved his tattoos, spending all day with his mom, lunch at Dairy Queen and time at the pool with his mom, sister, Madison and his dog, Mowgli and Diesel.


Mason passed away at his home in Humboldt on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the age of 21 years. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Gail Broich, Lona Wilson and Sammi Prenger.

Survivors include his parents, Rod and Heather Naeve of Humboldt; sister, Makenna Naeve of Humboldt; brothers, Nathan (Amber) Cowell and their children, Hadley Luchsinger, Rayne Cowell, Aria Cowell, Alexander Cowell of Emmetsburg and Jeremy Caine Kinnetz of Seattle, Washington; grandparents, Steve Prenger of Dakota City and Gary and Jeanni Naeve of Humboldt; longtime girlfriend, Madison Rusher of Humboldt; aunts and uncles: Jeff (Steph) Bowden of Humboldt and their children-Micheal (Paige), Tyler (Gabby) and Alison; Kylie Abrahamson of Albert Lea, Minnesota and her children-Hunter, Blake (Riley), Jon (Shelby), Victoria and Emma; Ted (Teresa) Prenger of Dakota City and their children-Gage and Aden; Janell (Dave) Rittgers of Rolfe and their children-Jacob (Victoria), Jonathan (Savanah) and Kenzie (Justin) Carlson; Russ (Angela) Naeve of Gilmore City and their children-Spencer, Carly, Arielle and Levi and Paul Samuelson of Humboldt and his children-Dylan, Drew (Madison), Cara and Charlie.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Casual attire is requested. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of the arrangements. www.masonlindhart.com
