Melba M. Fuoss, 85, of Humboldt, passed away at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital on Tuesday evening, December 27, 2022.
She was born September 5, 1937, in Fontanelle, Iowa, the daughter of Ivyl and Esther (Simons) DeCamp. She was raised and educated in Algona and following her schooling she worked as a waitress for the Algona Hotel. She was united in marriage to William H. Fuoss on September 16, 1962. The couple made their home in Algona for a time in 1965, moved to Humboldt. Melba worked at the Star Restaurant in Humboldt and later was employed at Farm Egg. She enjoyed bicycle riding, attending auctions and traveling to Nashville and southern Texas.
She is survived by her husband Bill of Humboldt, sisters Harriett Swarm of Perry and Carol Smith of Cedar Rapids and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ibyl and her sisters Joan, Inez and Dorothy.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. www.masonlindhart.com
