Robert E. Vaughn, 72, of Rolfe, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City from injuries received in an automobile accident.
He was born December 15, 1947 in Emmetsburg, the son of Virgil and Grace (Ross) Vaughn. He grew up in Rolfe and graduated from Rolfe High School. He served for a number of years in the Iowa National Guard. He was united in marriage to Jean Ann Gulbranson on February 14, 1976. The couple made their home on the family farm where Robert lived all his life. He had a love for the land and being a farmer. He especially enjoyed his family and grandchildren, his cars and attending car shows.
He is survived by his wife Jean, his children Mary Ann (Jimmy Schultz) Lilly of Newell, Tracy Lynn (Joshua) Miller of Humboldt and Adam Robert (Alex Nelson) Vaughn of Banner Elk, North Carolina, his grandchildren Robby, Alex, Elise, Jocelyn & Nora and his sister Janet Oldham of Algona. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26th at the Mason Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Burial will be at a later date in Rolfe Cemetery. www.masonlindhart.com
