Ruth Troxel, 74, formerly of Humboldt, passed away on Wednesday October 9, 2019 at Mercy Hospice House in Johnston.
She was born on June 10, 1945 to Gerald and Dorthea Calkins in Alma, Nebraska. The family later moved to Shanandoah, Iowa where Ruth later graduated from high school. While attending high school, Ruth met her husband Larry Troxel, they were married on June 7, 1964. Together they lived in Shanandoah and Riverton before moving and staying in Humboldt in 1976. After her husband Larry had passed, Ruth moved to Grimes in 2013 to be closer to her son.
She is survived by her children Bobbi (Russ) Shaw of Evansville, Indiana and Kevin (Erin) Troxel of Grimes, grandchildren Aaron (Lindsay) Duhacheck, Tom Kamp and Kelly Troxel, brothers Phil (Ann) Calkins of Grant, Nebraska and Lee (Carol) Calkins of Alma, Nebraska and great-grandchildren Paityn and Caroline.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Larry and her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12 at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of services.
