Shawn M. Hilton

Shawn M. Hilton, 44 of Humboldt, passed away on Sunday June 27, 2021 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

He was born July 6, 1976 in Des Moines and was raised and educated in the Des Moines area, graduating from Lincoln High School. He started his family early in life making their home in Creston before returning to Des Moines to continue his career as a chef. He met Rachel Nelson in 2010 and the couple moved to Florida. They were married on September 7, 2016 in Sebring, Florida and Shawn worked as the executive chef for the Highlands Ridge Golf Club in Sebring. The couple returned to Iowa and made their home in Humboldt. He loved music and his guitars, Mustangs, his Ford Raptor, his dog Remy and had an intense love for his family.

Shawn is survived by his wife Rachel Hilton of Humboldt, his children Mikel O. (Danielle) Hilton of Greenfield, Iowa, Kami -aka Chad- Hilton of Dakota City, Savanna Hilton and Cee Jay Nielsen of Humboldt, Shawn M. Hilton, Jr., Veronyca K. Hilton and Asher D. Hilton all of Humboldt, his grandchildren Lillie, Ryker and Jax, his parents Kathy Webb and Karl P. Webb Jr. of Dakota City, his sisters Krystal (Jason) Merrifield of Des Moines, Carolyn (Brian) Cardwell of Bowling Green, Kentucky, his brother Richard Webb of Largo, Florida, his half-sister Samantha (Johnny) Bruce and half-brother Jesse Hilton both of Clearwater, Minnesota, also many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Brianna and his sister Danyelle.


Visitation will be on Friday, July 2nd from 4:00 -6:00 p.m. with a Service of Remembrance scheduled for 6:00 p.m. all at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. www.masonlindhart.com
