Sherry Lou Gangestad, the daughter of C. Melvin and Marcella Gangestad, was born August 4, 1942 at Gilmore City. Following her graduation from Gilmore City High School in 1960, Sherry attended Bernell Hairstyling College in Fort Dodge where she graduated from with honors in 1961. She married John Gregerson and the couple made their home in Pocahontas, Iowa. To this union one son, Doug, was born. The marriage was later dissolved and Sherry moved to Humboldt.

On December 30, 1989, Sherry was united in marriage to Dr. James Passick. The couple made their home in Humboldt where Sherry owned and operated the Lions Mane Beauty Shop for many years. Dr. Passick passed away in November of 2004 and Sherry continued to maintain her business and home in Humboldt.

Sherry led a life guided by the lord. She dedicated her time to church and praying for those in need. She was multi-talented and in her free time made clothing for family and friends, and costumes for the children's play at St. Mary's school. Sherry also enjoyed working with flowers and decorating the church and her home with lights for Christmas. She enjoyed spending time with her family and bragging about her granddaughters. Her cooking was the best and she never kept her recipes a secret. She always enjoyed visiting her sister Susie in Arizona, and enjoyed their ventures together. Many of Sherry's friends often spoke of her wonderful laugh and fun times she spent making them laugh at her own "goofs". Sherry was a “one of a kind” amazing person who touched many hearts and never forgot anyone who touched hers. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by everyone that had the honor of knowing her.

Sherry is survived by her only sister, Sue Gangestad of Phoenix, AZ; step brother, Larry (Sally) Clark of Boscobel, WI; her son, Doug (Betsy) Gregerson of Fort Dodge; granddaughters, Amanda Gregerson of Fort Dodge and Alexis Gregerson and fiancé, Keith Moten of Kingsley, IA and their daughter, Morgan, Sherry’s great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Dr. James Passick.
