Stanley Schipull

Stanley Schipull, 89, of Renwick, passed away March 13, 2017 at the Humboldt Care Center North. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Renwick with the Rev. Lynn Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Renwick with full military honors by Adams American Legion Post 119 and Sathers-Odgaard VFW Post 5240. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.

Stanley is survived by his son, Larry Schipull of South Hadley, MA; daughter-in-law, Cathy Schipull of Humboldt; grandchildren, Lindsay (Adam) Charon of Fort Dodge and Christen (Nick) Sewell of Humboldt; great grandchildren, Braxton and Hunter Charon; and 6 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Beulah (Yanney) Schipull; wife, Donna; son, Doug Schipull; and brothers, Don and Loren Schipull.

Stanley Schipull, the son of John and Beulah (Yanney) Schipull, was born September 28, 1927 on a farm near Goldfield, Iowa. He was raised on the farm and graduated from Goldfield High School in 1944. He joined the United States Army at the end of World War II and was stationed in Washington State. Following his honorable discharge, Stanley returned home and attended Morningside College. He was united in marriage to Donna Hill on June 18, 1950 at the East Side Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. The couple made their home on a farm north of Renwick where they farmed together and raised their two sons. Following their retirement, Stan and Donna enjoyed their new home in Clarion and winters spent in Arizona. In 2014, they moved to Springvale Senior Living in Humboldt. Mrs. Schipull passed away in December of 2014 and Stanley became a resident of the Humboldt Care Center North. He passed away there peacefully on the morning of March 13, 2017 at the age of 89.

Stanley was a member of the United Methodist Church in Renwick. In addition to his farming operations, Stanley served on the Wright County Board of Supervisors, the Boone Valley School Board, W&H COOP and Boone Valley Coop Boards, and served as a Director of The Hawkeye Bank in Humboldt. He was a member of the American Legion, the Viona Masonic Lodge No. 538 of Renwick, the Izaak Walton League, and a founding member of the Oakridge Golf Course in Goldfield. In addition to golfing, Stanley enjoyed the many fishing trips he took and doting on his granddaughters.
