Thomas Hobert Law was born July 21, 1933 in Bradgate, Iowa to Hobert and Grace (Hansen) Law.  They lived on a farm in Bradgate until his father became ill and they moved to Gilmore City, Iowa.  All of his school years were spent in Gilmore City where he graduated in 1950.  He then enlisted into the United States Air Force and was stationed in El Paso, Texas for four years.

In 1959, he was united in marriage to Dolores Reed.  They had five children, David, Julie, Debra, Tom, and Kimberly, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.  He also has two sisters, Dorothy McNee of Ames and Mavis Bowden of Humboldt.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly; son, David; his grandson, Wade; his parents; and brother, Wilbur.

Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he was employed at the Humboldt Post Office for 34 years.  20 of those years were spent as a walking carrier (no Jeeps back then).  The last 14 years he served as a rural route carrier and farmed on the side.

After retiring from the post office, he worked several years for Smith Realty until hearing loss forced a change of careers.  He then went to work for The Chantland Company.  He was never idle.  During his youth he held down many jobs to help out at home including, a paper route, grocery store, breaking horses, and on the railroad.

He loved the outdoors and all sports especially fishing, hunting, and golf.  He loved his family and they all knew that if they needed anything, dad was always there.  He was also known to help anyone, strangers included.
