Veregene M. Olson

Veregene M. Olson, 96, of Urbandale, formerly of Humboldt, passed away on Sunday evening, October 21, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

She was born September 18, 1922 in Alcester, South Dakota, the daughter of Walter and Josephine (Miller) Heyl. She was united in marriage to Arden V. Olson on January 18, 1953. The couple lived in Akron, Iowa for a short time and in 1954 moved to Humboldt. Veregene worked as a cook at the Humboldt Junior High School for many years. In 2010 she moved to Urbandale to live with her daughter. She enjoyed dancing waltzes, sewing, reading and traveling.

Veregene is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Olson of Urbandale and was preceded in death by her husband, Arden.

Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 29th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt, followed by graveside services at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt. www.masonlindhart.com
