Wendy J. Tellier, 30, of Ankeny, formerly of Humboldt, passed away April 22, 2011 at her home in Ankeny.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt with Fr. Jim Tigges officiating.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Humboldt.  Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.  A parish rosary will be at 5 p.m. and a parish scripture service at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Wendy Joell Tellier was born February 2, 1981 at Humboldt.  She was raised and educated at Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1999.  While in High School, Wendy excelled academically and was a member of the National Honor Society.  She was employed in the Hy-Vee Deli, played the trombone in the High School Band, served as a wrestling statistician, and played on the girl’s golf team.  Wendy then went on to attend the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls where she loved her college life and served as a mat maid for the UNI wrestling team.  It was during her college years that Wendy, through determination to make it to her sisters wedding, successfully battled a brain tumor and graduated on time with a degree in graphic communications.

She moved to Ankeny where she became employed as an Administrative Assistant for Johnson Controls in Urbandale.  Her weekends were spent working in the photo lab at Wal Mart in Ankeny, which she enjoyed very much.

Wendy’s greatest love was helping others and was known for putting other people first through gifts and assistance and will always be remembered for her happiness and kindness.  Through her understanding and counseling, she was a gift to others receiving treatments for brain tumors.  She enjoyed creating stationary and business cards and was known for the cupcakes and cookies she made for special events and “treat day Sunday” at Wal Mart. She enjoyed motorcycle rides and collecting purses and monkeys.
Wendy is survived by her parents; Jeneane (Mel) Smith of Dakota City and Kevin (Margaret) Tellier of Humboldt; brother, Derek (Laura) Tellier of Minnetonka, MN; sister, Marissa (Justin) Bauer of Ankeny; nieces and nephews, Ava and Ivan “Van” Tellier and Claire and Garrett Bauer; and her grandparents, Bob and Lois Molitor of Humboldt.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Howard and Doris Tellier, Merlyn and Jeanette Dierksen, and Gerald and Rose Smith.
