Andrew H. Hampe, 64, of Bode, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Bode on Sunday, November 5, 2023.
Andrew was born August 14, 1959, in Toul-Rosieres Air Force Base, France, the son of Arthur E. and Ida M. (Nielsen) Hampe, Sr. He moved with his family at a very young age to Bode where he was raised and educated, graduating from Twin Rivers High School in 1977. He worked for his family in the Bode Lumber Yard doing construction for many years. In 1983 Andrew moved to Alaska where he continued in the construction trade and then became an artist, making handmade wooden fine jewelry and wooden novelties. In 2015, he returned to Bode and maintained an art studio in his home. Andrew enjoyed long adventures with his best friend, Clyde, his dog, and also viewing artwork, listening to live music; especially at Byron’s in Pomeroy.
He is survived by his sister Angela (Robert) McKenna of Bode and his nieces and nephews; Olivia, Amber, Kenny, Alexandria, Cordell, Kyle and Adrienne. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Arthur Jr.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25th at the Bode Community Center in Bode. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the discretion of the family. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements. www.masonlindhart.com
