Ardis was born on September 29, 1932, in Story County, Iowa, the daughter of Chester Carle and Ethel Marie (Sweet) Severson. Ardis was a woman of many talents and interests. She found joy in sewing, gardening, canning, playing cards, snowmobiling, and square dancing. Her creativity shone through in the handmade cards she lovingly crafted and in the three children’s books she authored. She was an active member in Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, where she participated in church circles. She also enjoyed her involvement in the Red Hat Society and treasured the friendships she shared in her coffee groups.
Family was the heart of Ardis’s life. She was a devoted caregiver to many loved ones over the years, offering compassion, strength, and unwavering support.
