Barry L. Steburg Sr., 60, of rural Harcourt died May 13, 2015 at the Southfield Care Center in Webster City. Funeral services will be held Friday May 15th at 2:00 p.m. at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Funeral Home.
Barry grew up on a farm near Gowrie and graduated from Prairie Community High School in 1973. After high school Barry served in the U. S. Army for three years. In 1979 he was united in marriage to Brenda Henry and to this union Barry Jr. was born. The marriage was later dissolved. Barry worked for Todd and Sargent, Inc. erecting grain elevators for a few years and when Barry was in his mid-20’s he started working for Hade Farms near Harcourt and worked there until the time of his death. Barry was a member of the Harcourt American Legion and served on the fire department for many years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and enjoying his morning coffee breaks at Sparky’s. He loved spending time with his family and grandchild. Barry was a very good cook and baker and was known by his family as Barry Crocker.
Barry Steburg, Sr. is survived by his son Barry (Alisha) Steburg, Jr. of Humboldt, granddaughter Morgan Steburg, Brothers: Brian Steburg of Des Moines, Brad Steburg of Ankeny, Sisters: Brenda Steburg of Ankeny and Beth (Randy) Koob of Hardy. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister Barbara Steburg.
