Cory L. Knowles, 38, of Story City, formerly of the Algona and Burt area, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 10, 2022 in Story City.

He was born February 28, 1984, in Humboldt, the son of John E. and Karen L. (Thompson) Knowles. He was raised and educated in the Algona and Burt area, graduating from Algona High School in 2003. He was employed at Winnebago in Forest City for a time and then as a service technician for Heyer Trucking in Titonka and Eby Trucking in Story City. Cory enjoyed music, frisbee golf, bicycling and most of all time with his children.

He is survived by his children Kendra, Chase and Amelia Knowles of Titonka and Audrina Marcum of Story City, his mother Karen (Mel) Balsley of Forest City, his brother Jeremy (Amanda) Knowles of Titonka, his sister Jennifer (Adam Braunersrither) of Whittemore, his step-sister Megan Balsley of Nora Springs and his step-brother Jacob Balsley of Mason City. He was preceded in death by his father John and his grandparents; Carol & Flora Knowles and Earl & Dorothy Thompson.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 15th and visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14th both at the Mason Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.
