Dale M. Eyrich, 72, of Fort Dodge, formerly of the Humboldt area, passed away on Tuesday evening, November 1, 2022 at Allen Hospital in Waterloo following a lengthy illness.
He was born February 1, 1950 in Rochester, Minnesota, the son of Glenmore and Ruby (McFolin) Eyrich. He was raised and educated in New Ulm and following his schooling enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. Upon his return he was employed as a truck driver. He was united in marriage to Lena M. Hodgell on August 7, 1982 in Gilmore City. The couple made their home in Rolfe and later Humboldt County. Dale drove for Abbas Trucking, Blacktop Service and Monson & Son’s until retiring in 2000. In retirement the couple moved to Fort Dodge. He enjoyed putting together model cars, going to the races and time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons Paul (Shelby) Eyrich of Fort Dodge, Darren (Sarah) Eyrich of New Ulm, Minnesota, his grandchildren P.J., Robert, Hailiegh, Drake, Edwin and Jade, his sisters Deb (Lupe) Cedillo and Karen (Ron) Matter both of New Ulm and Patsy (Jim) Lueck of Eagle Lake, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lena and his grandson Awsten.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14th with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service both at New Covenant Christian Church in Fort Dodge. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service of Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements.
