Frank J. Vanderhoff, 76, of Humboldt, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025 at his home in Humboldt.
Frank was born November 20, 1948 near Clare, Iowa the son Vincent and Lucille (Grice) Vanderhoff. He grew up west of Clare and then later in the Gilmore City area where he attended school and later at Pocahontas. He was united in marriage to Sandra Thurston on May 13, 1967. The couple made their home in Humboldt and Frank worked as a plant operator for Martin-Marietta until retiring in 2011 after 38 years. Frank was a perfectionist, loved attention to detail and could be found in his garage making go-carts for the grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cars and the outdoors. Family was important to him and he loved to spoil the grandkids.
Frank is survived by his daughters Tracy (Todd) Zuetlau of Dakota City and Annette (Eric) Keller of Goldfield, his grandchildren; Kala (Elias) Thury, Marcus (Victoria) Keller, Adam Keller and Blake Zuetlau, his great-grandchildren; Gideon, Malachi, Esther and Lucille, his siblings; Cathy (Lynn) Bendixon of Humboldt, Fred (Marsha) Vanderhoff of Gilmore City, Mary Dawson of Stanhope and Matt Vanderhoff of Dakota City. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sandra, son Jerry, brothers; Patrick, Eddie, Michael and Joe and his sister Jane.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 20th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home in Humboldt. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery west of Clare. www.masonlindhart.com
