Jack David, 87, of Prior Lake, Minnesota, formerly of Humboldt, Iowa, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Jack Lee David was born on November 30, 1938, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Ray and Mary (Ewart) David. As a young man, his family lived in Prescott, Iowa, and later moved to Bradgate, Iowa, where he graduated from Bradgate High School in 1957. After working in the Humboldt area following high school, Jack was united in marriage to Lois (Sundermeyer) on June 11, 1961. He was drafted into the Army and served his enlistment before returning to the Humboldt area. Jack spent most of his career working for the Iowa Department of Transportation, serving in Humboldt and Wright counties.

Jack and Lois’ life together was filled with beautiful memories made with their friends, children, and five beloved granddaughters. Some of their favorite memories included trips to northern Minnesota, card club gatherings, fishing trips, and active public service through the Lions Club, Polka Fest, Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, and Boy Scouts.

Jack will be remembered for his loyalty, strength, sense of mission, and commitment to public service, as well as his love of fishing, playing poker, winning at bingo, and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Those who knew Jack will always remember his dedication to his faith, his passion for service, his funny sayings, and his unconditional love.

Above all, Jack David cherished his family. He is survived by his wife, Lois David; his children, Lisa David and her husband, Charlie, and Brian David and his wife, Heather; his granddaughters, Amanda, Kaitlyn, Emma, Aubrey, and Jenna; and his sister, Suzanne Clark.

Jack leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, family, friendship, service, and loyalty.
