James L. Rugg

James Lynn Rugg, 81, peacefully passed away in his sleep on August 19th at Concord Care Center in Garner, IA. Jim is predeceased by his mother, Audrey Baumgartner, brother Larry, and sister Cynthia. He is survived by sisters Nancy (Larry) Hedberg, Linda (William) Cork, and Vicki (Patrick) Butler, sister-in-law Marian, and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was born in Mason City and graduated from LuVerne Community High School in LuVerne.

After graduation, he ran the DX Station in LuVerne. He had a natural gift for mechanics, and his passion was restoring old cars to mint condition. Jim was a real jokester and had a knack for making people laugh.

As a young man, Jim suffered a life-threatening brain aneurysm. Afterwards, he was lovingly cared for by relatives for several years until he eventually came to Concord Care Center. The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the staff at Concord for making his final years comfortable and pleasant.

A memorial service for Jim will be held at a later date.
