Kent A. “Tank” Tokheim, 69, of Thor, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 29, 2025 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.
Tank was born August 17, 1955 in Fort Dodge, the son of Charles Franklin and June (Dorn) Tokheim. He grew up outside of Thor and started farming at an early age. He was educated in Eagle Grove, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1973. He went on to attend the Humboldt Institute in Minneapolis and later Buena Vista College. Tank worked for Chantland’s south plant for thirty-nine years all while continuing with the family farming operation. His faithful companion was his dog DJ, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, 3D puzzles and his twice daily drive through Thor.
Tank is survived by his sisters, Laurie Sittig and Peggy Tokheim both of Fort Dodge, his brother Mark (Melissa) Tokheim of Thor, his nieces and nephews; Brian (Katie) Sittig of West Des Moines, Becky (Curtis Patterson) of Des Moines, Brooke Tokheim of West Lafayette, Indiana and Travis (Bailey) Tokheim of Vincent, Austin Tokheim of Thor, nieces; Drew Tokheim, Graceyn and Brylee Snyder, Elijah and Frances Sittig, Natalee Sittig, Devon, Taleigha and Taelynn Patterson and Makiyah Huizar. He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew Brad Sittig and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5th followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Family Graveside Services will take place Tuesday, May 6th at East Ullensvang Cemetery near Thor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the discretion of the family. www.masonlindhart.com
