Larry D. Hamilton

April 10, 1929 — May 21, 2022

Larry Dean Hamilton, the son of Robert and Luany (Armstrong) Hamilton, was born April 10,1929 in Iowa Falls. He was raised and educated in the Iowa Falls area, attending Maple Grove country school and graduating from Iowa Falls High School in 1947.

On June 1, 1950, Larry was united in marriage to Eileen R. Bissey in Iowa Falls. They lived in Iowa Falls where he farmed with his brothers for a short time. In the 1950’s, the family moved to Popejoy where Larry rented a farm from his aunt before moving to a farm south of Humboldt in Beaver Township in 1958 where he had lived until his death. Larry delivered milk, both can and bulk for many years, milked cows, drove bus for the Humboldt Community School District and was a hail adjuster for Farmers Mutual Insurance for 25 years.

Larry enjoyed woodworking and had a large hat and toy collection. He served as a board member for the Springvale Creamery in Humboldt and was a Mason for many years and was very active with the Shriners International Organization in different capacities including dressing up as Santa Clause each year for the children. Larry was a member of Eastern Star Lodge #195 in Humboldt.

Larry passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt at the age of 93 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eileen; daughter, Linda Price; brothers, Bill and Bob and an infant brother, Wallace. He is survived by his children: Leland (Mary) Hamilton of Humboldt, Michael D. (Marjorie Murphy) Hamilton of Kailua Kona, Hawaii, Bruce B. (Janet) Hamilton of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and LuAnn Lockwood of Clear Lake; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren and his siblings: Margaret Ellingson of Iowa Falls, Merle (Carol) Hamilton of Webster City and Libby Olsen of Iowa Falls.

Funeral Services will be 1:30 pm. on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Mason-Lindhart Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery in Humboldt.
