Marjorie “Marge” M. Herrington, 89, of Humboldt, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, into the arms of her loving Savior.

Marge was born September 26, 1936 in Burnside, Iowa, the daughter of Guy and Eunice (Olson) Lathrop. She graduated from Burnside High School and then attended Fort Dodge Business College. She was united in marriage to Ronald D. Herrington on October 16, 1955 in Burnside. The couple made their home in San Diego for two years and then returned to Burnside. In 1964 they relocated to Humboldt. Marge worked as a teachers’ associate at Mease Elementary and later, Taft School. She enjoyed baking bread, loved flowers and the outdoors, and family activities. She assisted with Meals on Wheels and Oak Hill Church was a big part of her life, leading Jet Cadets while her children were young. She and Ron traveled throughout Midwest and she enjoyed music events and concerts from local music groups.

Marge is survived by her daughters; Michelle (Leslie) Moore of Waterloo, Deanne (Kurt) Johnson of Gravity and Stacey (Joseph) Keller of Clarion, her grandchildren; Joey (Candace) Keller, Jon (Lynette) Keller, Jenna (Grant) Booth, Justine Johnson, Michael Johnson, Natalie (Jon) Moore, and her great-grandchildren; Judah, Camille, Quincy, Jack, Harper, Everett, Lois, Carmen, Ronnie, and Landri, her brothers; Guy Lathrop, Ken (Gladyce) Lathrop, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald, daughter Susan, grandson Eddie, and sister-in-law Carol Lathrop.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 28th at Oak Hill Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be from 9:30 until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in Dayton Cemetery. www.masonlindhart.com
