Rhonda K. Dyer

Rhonda entered this world in unforgettable fashion, born in a hallway - delivered by a nun - seemingly fit for a woman who would spend her life on her own terms.

A true force of nature, Rhonda lived boldly, with an unshakeable will, fierce independence, stubbornness and a love for life that never wavered. She embraced every moment “with both feet first,” fiercely protecting those she loved, and meeting every challenge head-on, regardless of the odds.

In her 22,081 days, Rhonda wore many hats—mastering each endeavor with tenacity, intelligence, and a spark that could never be forgotten. Strong-willed, opinionated, kind, and unforgettable, she left an indelible mark wherever she went—often with a dramatic flair.

Her greatest joy and proudest achievement was being a grandmother. Nothing meant more to her than her family—especially her grandchildren Teigann and Dexter who brought her endless pride and immeasurable joy. Devin and Ryan, her sons, loved and doted on her deeply, keeping life entertaining until her last breath. No matter how lively things got she loved them with all of her heart.

Rhonda spent several years living in Arizona before returning to Iowa in late 2024. Throughout every season of her life, she carried an indomitable spirit—fierce, resilient, and ever loyal.

She is also survived by her father Dennis (Ginger), siblings, who were her closest companions in a life full of adventure: Rachel (Matt), who was always the life of the party; Ruth, who could be both exasperating and beloved; Randy (Kris), her spirited rival in the famous “Battle of the Brains”; and Rick (Tami), whose constant optimism kept them all afloat. Crystal (Daniel) Dyer, too, held a special place in her heart, along with nieces Nicki, Summer, Kate, Angel, and Blair, and nephews Josh, Preston, Logan, and Brady.

Rhonda left this world on May 25, 2026, but she leaves behind a legacy of love, determination, respect, and a fearless spirit that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. Those who knew Rhonda knew this for certain: she loved deeply, protected fiercely, spoke her mind with fearless honesty, and never apologized for being exactly who she was.

A Memorial Gathering was held June 5, 2026 at Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service of Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements. www.masonlindhart.com
