MELISSA "Missy" JACOBSEN         September 9, 1966 - February 18, 2019

Melissa “Missy” Jacobsen was one of the strongest, most courageous, and kindest women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her.  We regretfully announce the passing of Melissa Jacobsen on February 18, 2019. Missy was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully at home.

She met Richard Jacobsen at Iowa State University and married on June 22, 1991.  Together they went on to have two children, Doc and Ally. Together as a Family they lived in Alexandria, Virginia, St. Augustine Florida, Muscatine, Iowa, and San Luis Obispo, California.

Missy was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family, dogs (Sparky, Beaufort and Dexter) and friends. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

Family and Friends will gather at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14th, at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service, Humboldt and at 3:30 p.m. process to St. Mary Cemetery, Humboldt, for a graveside service with Reverend Dan Guenther, officiating.  A Memorial Gathering – Reception will follow from 4:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Pasquale’s in Humboldt.   www.masonlindhart.com

RICHARD "Dick" JACOBSEN       October 12, 1964 - October 26, 2022

It is with deep sadness that I share that Richard “Dick” Jacobsen, died on October 26, 2022. He is survived by his children Doc and Ally.

Some of Dick’s Life highlights are as follows; he joined St. Stephen’s School in 1989, first serving as a math lab instructor and football coach, and later as a P.E. teacher. He coached football, wrestling, track & field, and founded the Breakfast Club, an early morning pre-class weightlifting and conditioning program for all students. His true passion was demonstrating life lessons to help students become greater humans. Which many people will hold in their memory and use to continue his legacy.

One of the family’s favorite quotes said about Dick was, “He has a never-ending love of learning; the patience to work with his students to help them be the best they can be; the wonderful ability to laugh at himself and a situation; and a totally unselfish, caring attitude toward his students and colleagues.”
